Best RV Parks & Resorts near Lake Powell, UT

This is a great RV Park. The location is superb. The space between sites is very generous. Interior roads are very easy to navigate for big rigs. Very quiet at night. This place is designed right. Site was big enough for our 40 foot 5th wheel. The views of Lake Powell were awesome! The campground is maintained very well. Wifi is almost useless and there is no cable. Due to the location there are no TV channels with antennas. My only reason for not giving it five stars was the staff in the camp store/ registration. We have been to many campgrounds and the staff in the camp store were some of the worst we have ever dealt with. They do not greet you or smile. If you ask a question you will get an answer that is probably incorrect. They do not try to help or explain anything. We camped at Wahweap RV and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We camped here Feb 4-7 2021 and there were about 4-5 other campers on over a mile of beach. Our nearest neighbor was about 100 yards away. During the day on the weekend more people showed up for day use but there weren't ever more than 30 people on a HUGE stretch of beach. The beach can accommodate any size rig easily. The most important thing to remember when getting there.... SCOUT AHEAD! Either on foot or with a 4x4 so you can plan your route out to the beach. One wrong turn and you will be up to your frame in soft sand. But there are plenty of hard pack routes to get out there as long as you scout ahead. I saw a 45ft class A, I have a 35ft toy hauler, people were driving 2 wheel drive cars out there for the day. I did pull a Mini Cooper out that was stuck up to the frame and I almost got stuck with my 4x4 Ram truck. So planning is key. This is going to be one of my go to winter camping spots. I don't like camping with lots of people so Feb was perfect. Temps were high 50s during the day and lows were high 20s. Never more than a breeze and not a single bug to be found. Summer is a whole different story, I'm sure. Lake Powell is notorious for wind/sand storms in the afternoons but we didn't have any of that. The potable water fill, flush toilets, and showers were closed for the season but the vault toilets on the beach were open. The Pilot gas station that is a 3 minute drive has a dump station and potable water that worked out perfectly. I can't recommend this spot enough! If I had to describe Arizona camping then this would be the perfect campground description. Such a beautiful area with a pristine CG to boot.

More red than green, awesome views of the Colorado as well as easy access which I benefited from due to the float trip we came for, and wonderful people camping here in numerous different setups. Everything from vans to RVs to toy haulers and cars with tents.

Clean restrooms and some of the best in the entire state IMO, as well as water and for the big rigs there’s a dump station but my site didn’t have any other RV amenities so I’m pretty sure that’s it

Couple great hikes nearby that give even better views of the area and if you can handle the heat I’d recommend them

Fishing is per the usual in the Colorado and it wasn’t too great for my trip but probably more my fault

Marble Canyon is nearby if you need anything but it’s extremely quiet right now

It stayed pretty busy over my 2 day stay. When I pulled in on a Thursday I was able to grab 1 of 6 empty spots. By the time i left Saturday it was full constantly. As usual my cell service wasn’t very dependable

The campground is conveniently located close to Horseshoe Bend and Lake Powell. There are biking, hiking and running trails nearby. There is a playground with a trail around it in the campground, but there is not a dog park.

The sites are pull through, gravel sites with full hook-ups. They were slightly uneven, but spacious. The bathroom amenities weren’t clean, there was hair all over the shower. They also provide wagon rentals which looked pretty neat, if you don’t have a camper, but want to stay overnight in the area.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay but wouldn’t rate the bathroom/shower amenities highly.

Great views and great campsites. The tent sites include a sandy pad for your tent, picnic table, fire ring, camp fire grill, and parking space. Bathrooms are close to the campsites and were clean. Only downside to the campground is the campsites are a little close to each other. Camp store stocked with beer, wine, food, coffee, t-shirts, and gear. Bring your own fire wood. Laundry and showers located at the store for a fee. Campground was crowded, so make sure to make a reservation. Simple reservation process on their website. Easy access to the lake, parking and a short walk to the swimming beach right accross the street from the store. Kayak and paddle board rentals available. Didn't have any luck with the wifi, but who needs wifi when camping?! Also didn't have any cell service, but again, who needs it? Campsite is dog friendly!
