TravelerWe pulled in late at night and grabbed a spot. This campground is on the first come, first serve basis. The campground host, who visited us upon arrival was extremely helpful and allowed us to move closer to the river. Our second site had a fabulous view of the river. The campground hosts are accommodating, friendly, and keep this campground in pristine condition. The toilets are spotless. A very beautiful and comfortable stay
GuideWe only stayed one night, we were in the dry tent section, the outhouse was close to the tent area ( not my favorite) there was a shower and toilet in the lodge area.
TravelerFollow Route 31 to Pine Creek Pass. There is a large turn off. Two ways to the top up Forest Road 40253. The drive up was not too bad. I’m in a all-wheel-drive Ford transit with a slight lift to it. Although the roads were rutted in some places, we made it to the top without incident. There’s a wide level space here with a fire pit. Room for several vehicles. Shortly after I arrived another Van showed up and parked down the way essentially on the road which was fine. You can hear a bit of road traffic from time to time but generally it’s quiet. Beautiful vistas. I enjoyed watching the rain fall and thunder roll over a distant mountain range, the sunset and then the sunrise. Three bars of cellular on ATT.
TravelerEasy to find with coordinates no other signage seen. Open space for parking. There are two other vehicles here with us and we are not on top of each other. The creek water sound is nice but the highway noise is loud so be aware, although the noise almost stops completely by 9/10pm. Clean camp area.
TravelerPass Curtis canyon campground which I think is $10 a night. Go up another quarter mile and on the third Big bend there is a singular spot with an amazing view. Lots of flies if the temperature is high enough, but if you go out a few hundred ft to the second mound, the wind keeps the flies away a little bit. If you go up another quarter mile or so, there's a community spot on the left which I camped at a few years ago with other campers. Seems like about at least a half a dozen regular size vehicles would fit and on the right there's another spot that a family was occupying. Haven't been further up but it seems like each spot on this app is individually marked out

We stayed three nights and really enjoyed it. The sites are well maintained and include a bear box. The drive up is beautiful but 3/4 is unpaved. I made it up in my Prius including in the rain but I had to drive slow. $20 a night was definitely worth it especially compared to the cost of hotels in Jackson which ran $350+ due to the rodeo being in town.
Camp host was welcome and helpful but also gave you your space. What really makes this spot special are the views.
TravelerDrove through multiple camping areas mid/late afternoon and all were taken. Came back here with our roof top tent surrounded by campers/RVs. Suggest getting in the area sooner and hope you get a spot if dispersed and away from others is your thing.
Also keep in mind the mosquitos during this time.
GuideWe stopped here in our 30 ft class A on our way to the Grand Tetons. We pulled in 8pm on a Wednesday and there were about half the spots left and only two more filled in after us. Perfect for a night or two. The dump station and several water sigots were really useful too.
